We at Global One are thrilled to record this month with Liz McClarnon, charismatic co-founder of the UK’s top girl band Atomic Kitten. Having helped to secure her band’s place in the pantheon of pop legends with 10 million records sold, a large number of music awards and sold-out world tours, Liz has recently gone solo with a debut album due to be released later this year.
Her first solo single topped the UK charts in 2006, and with a host of recent television appearances under her belt, this is one celebrity whose star power seems to know no bounds. “Liz is a naturally gifted talent,” says Global One COO Charlie Dilks. “She has a fantastic and versatile voice, is an acclaimed songwriter and musician, and is even multi-lingual. She will undoubtedly make a huge contribution to the project and I am delighted to be working with her.”

BLAAZE WINS MTV`s YOUTH ICON AWARD
Blaaze has created history by winning MTV’s Youth Icon Award!
MTV has been presenting these awards to people who rivet the attention of youth with their style and work.
Global One rapper Blaaze, known as “The Rhythmic Poet,” was among 30 candidates nominated for the 2008 Pepsi MTV Youth Icon Awards. Having spent his youth in Zambia, the Indian Blaaze has always felt that music could change the world; he performed his first rap (at the age of 16) for Zambia’s presidential elections. Throughout his stellar music career in both African and India, Blaaze has worked to keep his rap rooted in real issues, penning lyrics about everything from sectarian violence to police corruption.

TOP ISRAELI R&B ARTIST SHIRI MAIMON PREPARES TO GO GLOBAL
In breaking news, R&B star Shiri Maimon, whose powerful voice has been stirring up audiences in her native Israel since her 2004 debut, has just jumped on board the Global One project.
Shiri, who will be recording five songs for the collection, took her first steps onto the world stage when she grabbed fourth place representing Israel in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, and recently won “Best Israel Act” and was voted #3 in the “Europe’s Favourite Act” category at the MTV Europe Music Awards, 2008. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide an additional showcase for her talents across all the Global One countries!

WELCOME ON BOARD! WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT OZGUN AND DJ FUNKY C FROM TURKEY HAVE ADDED THEIR OWN SPECIAL FLAVOUR!
The recording took place in Istanbul in October this year. During a series of intense energy filled sessions Ozgun - one of Turkey's young and most popular pop singers - recorded all the songs for the Global One Project: Lately, My Heart, In the Room, In My Head, Tossin`n`Turnin. Two of the songs (Lately and Tossin`n`Turnin) are recorded together with the renowned Turkish rapper DJ Funky C.
“We are delighted to be working with Ozgun and DJ Funky C – both such talented artists in their own right bringing with them the style culture and individuality that makes Global One such a unique and special project. We are all very excited about the recording, this is going to be a big record!” – said Charlie Dilks, Chief Operating Officer for Global One.
Global One is a worldwide initiative to record the same songs with local multi-platinum selling artists in their own languages in over 20 countries spanning 5 continents around the world.

ITALY NOW ON BOARD THE GLOBAL ONE PROJECT
Italy has joined Project in October and recorded two songs for Global One. Italy’s top artists have decided to support the unique and ground breaking worldwide music project, uniting the talents of platinum selling artists covering 20 countries over 5 continents.
We are delighted to announce new artists:
- Alexia - one of the most talented Italian singers ever. She come out with her powerful voice in 1993, when she took part to ICE MC project, recording smash hits such as “Think about the way” and “It’s a rainy day”, this one was the most important one, since it was included in cult movie “Trainspotting”. Alexia has sold over 6,000,000 albums worldwide.
- Anrea Dianetti – a rising and talented star of Italian music scene.
The featured artists each sing their interpretation of the specially written Global One hit songs in their own language, for a simultaneous release around the world in February 2009.

GLOBAL ONE LAUNCHES HISTORIC PROJECT WITH SIGNING OF WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH EMI MUSIC PUBLISHING AT POPKOMM.
We are delighted to officially launch the Global One project at PopKomm with the signing of a worldwide publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing.
Charlie Dilks, Chief Operating Officer for Global One, says:

Wei-Wei - the "Queen of Pop" in Asia, Daniela Mercury - 2007 Latin Grammy Winner and Despina Vandi - a pop icon of Greek music, met in Beijing to continue recordings of the historic Global One project where each artist will represent their home country as well as attending the FIRST INTERNATIONAL PRESS CONFERENCE for the GLOBAL ONE project.
This was a unique opportunity to meet all the great artists at the same time!
